It should be noted that my FKT attempt did not follow the FKT route 100% and therefore did not pick up the Victory - Cheeseboro Loop segment on Strava. I've run these trails a lot and though I never left the trail/went off trail, I failed to recognize the slight transitional details in a couple of places along the route. The first was at around mile 9 where the Cheeseboro Ridge Edison Rd transitions on to the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Trail. I was following what I thought to be the most natural transition to this trail but the correct part of the route that takes you to Las Virgenes Rd first was also closed and has been closed due to construction. The second small deviation was at around mile 11 where I took the trail that cuts the corner at the junction of the Mary Wiesbrock Loop Trail and Crummer Ranch Rd. According to the posted FKT route and my slightly deviated route, the total discrepancy in distance from the original route was about 0.05-0.07 miles.

I ran this route alone and carried about 1L of water. Overall, super happy with this effort especially compared to my last attempt at this FKT and the first time I had run these trails. This turned out to be the perfect weather/day for this attempt with overcast/cool weather, very minimal water on the trail (just a couple of small creek crossings), and hardly any people for what's normally considered a popular hiking/biking/horseback riding trail on the weekends. Late Spring or early Winter are ideal seasons for this route but get out there early in the morning to avoid the crowds if you are attempting this on a weekend.
