Our goal was to beat the fastest lap around Lake Zürich with bike support from Lina Kleijkers (i.e., handling of bottles, gels, jackets etc.) on March 24, 2024.
We downloaded the original gpx file from the previous FKT holder Jonathan Dack, where we had some slight deviations due to i.) construction work ii.) accessibility of the bike for bike support
We started and finished the run at Blunschtlibrunnen (Zurich, Switzerland) where we ran the lap clockwise. We overshot the finish by a handle of meters to ensure that we would complete the entire lap and not come short at the finish line due to potential GPS errors (we all know the Strava tax)
Near the end (final 15k) we had friends waiting for us helping to pace the final stretch home.
We ran the entire way together with occasional gaps when one was taking of his jacket (very volatile weather conditions, with hail, rain and sunshine) or having a drink/gel.
