Started the run in Menasha near the Kwik Trip on the corner of Oneida St and Hwy 10 just after 6 am. The first section of the run I followed Highway 114 to Pigeon Rd into High Cliff State Park. After ascending the hill near the lookout tower at High Cliff I exited the park onto High Cliff Rd south to Hwy 55. The first few hours were cold. I started with a long-sleeved shirt and hand warmers in gloves. I continued on Hwy 55. My first stop was at the BP gas station in Stockbridge, to grab some cookies, Gatorade, and water.  My second refuel stop was further south along Hwy 151 at the BP in Pipe, WI. Both of these businesses are clearly used to visitors biking around the lake. There are very few stops available at this time of year in the morning on a Saturday as well. I continued down Hwy 151 until Winnebago Drive in Taycheedah. My 3rd refuel stop was at the Citgo just off of Hwy 151. This section from High Cliff to Taycheedah was very windy.  I made a 4th stop at a Tobacco Outlet Plus in Fond Du Lac and picked up Hwy 45 as I headed north up the west side of the lake toward Oshkosh. My 5th stop was at the Lakeshore Amoco across from Wendt's along Hwy 45. The 6th stop was at another BP entering Oshkosh. This was nearing sunset and marked the end of the warmest part of the run. During the Fond Du Lac to Oshkosh section, there was almost no wind and I needed to be careful not to overheat. My 7th stop was at a BP on Main Street in Downtown Oshkosh. I needed to put on warmer gear and open a set of hand warmers in addition to refueling. The section from Oshkosh to Neenah was the toughest for a number of reasons. It got cold. It got dark. There was no shoulder to run on for a few miles along Hwy A. I needed my headlamp to be seen and I ran on the grass next to the road at times. My 8th stop was at another BP in Neenah, and I stopped one more time at a Marathon in Menasha. I finished before 10 pm.

I started with my pack and two water bottles. I carried some snacks with me. I needed a headlamp and gloves with hand warmers. I was able to buy other snacks, water, and drinks along the route. My goal was 15 hours, but after running into the wind for 7 hours I decided to revise that and do some run/walking. I was able to finish in excellent condition all things considered. My moving time was under 15 hours total, but without stopping I would not have finished. I would consider doing this again and perhaps not on such a windy day.
