This was an unsupported run I completed on the 1st April 2024.
Ardgay to Ullapool crossing from east to west. I downloaded a GPX file of the route onto my garmin fenix 6 as navigation. The morning of the run my wife Kim and my daughter Kadie dropped me off in Ardgay around 09:30 to start crossing. The first few miles are on single road tarmac until I reached the Croick estate 4 x 4 track. I carried 2 liters of water with SIS electrolytes, 2 small soft gels with Active root, an SIS gel, jelly babies and a sausage roll.
The rain stayed away for the full run, thankfully! I set out to try and finish the run in under 6 hours, so all in all I was pleased to finish the route in 5:35:39
Kim and the kids then picked me up in Ullapool where we then went to the Seaforth chip shop to refuel.
