Started off at the Echo Canyon TH at 12:10 pm on 03/31/2022. It was a beautiful day in the monument with weather in the high 50's/low 60's. Started off down the Echo Canyon Trail and felt good on the descent and this was one of my favorite parts of the day. I got to Sarah Deming, ate a Gu and got worked pretty hard by the climb but was still feeling good. Heart of Rocks was an awesome loop and it was fun bobbing and weaving between formations. Once I came out of the loop I got a glance at the Big Balance Rock and that was pretty surreal to see! Rolled over the shallow climbs on my way over to Inspiration Point. I saw the "Open Me" box at the end of the point but just gave it a tap and headed out. I took my last Gu on the way out from the point. Down Mushroom Rock I tried to let my legs go and pick up some speed until the final climb out on the Ed Riggs Trail and back to the start. I ate 3 Gu's (one before and two during) and had a little bit of water out of my hand held bottle. I wanna give a shoutout to Matthew for making me work for this one! The monument was absolutely beautiful and I'm hoping to get back there soon.
