Description

This route starts at the South trailhead, must include a summit tag (off trail) of Green Mountain, and ends at the North trailhead. An out-and-back would include a second summit tag on the way back to make the route symmetrical.

The USFS describes the trail as such:

“The Green Mountain trail lies Northeast of Prineville in the Ochoco National Forest. The 8.5-mile trail winds along open ridge tops, which offer spectacular views, and passes through beautiful old growth ponderosa pine stands. This trail offers a wide range of scenic views and riding experiences. In the spring, there is a beautiful array of wildflowers.

The trail system is designed for Class I (Quads, 3-wheelers less than 50" wide and 800 pounds) and Class III (motorcycles) ATVs.”
