This is an out-and-back trail course: from Anse Saint-Jean marina to Petit Saguenay pier and back.
Starting from Anse Saint-Jean Marina, half a mile on pavement and then a large trail. Then about 5.5 miles on a forest technical single track (mostly roots and some rocks). One mile of steep ascent to a point of view of the Saguenay fjord then rolling for about 2 miles to a lake. Then a descent to another lake, followed by a moderately steep ascent. The descent to Petit Saguenay pier is quite steep and technical. Return to the starting point by the same trail.
The trail is almost entirely in the forest with nice viewpoints and located in the Saguenay Fjord national park (access fee required, around 9 CAD for an adult daily access).
There are also a few streams and lakes to collect water.
